Vocal studies

Singing students will continue to develop their existing skills and build their performance skills to a high professional standard. They will learn in depth about the history of music and the development of artistic movements and will be able to navigate the aesthetics of the arts. They will also gain hands-on experience through work on faculty and school-wide projects, which include solo and chamber projects and those of Chamber Opera and Studio Nine. If interested, they will have the opportunity to gain experience by studying abroad. The study of Voice will prepare the student to be able to work with their own developed creative imagination and imagination. At the same time, the student will gain a deep knowledge of music and drama in the context of music history, literature, drama and visual arts and will be able to produce work on a scholarly level.

• knows his/her vocal apparatus and is able to guide it correctly and creatively to prepare a wide range of vocal repertoire from songs to demanding operatic roles
• is prepared both vocally and technically to become a soloist on one of the opera stages, to be a member of a professional choral ensemble, a concert singer or a quality teacher
• is aware of the ethical and social dimension of artistic activity and is able to take it into account in his/her work
• knows the basic psychological rules, can work in a team, communicates effectively with team members and has the ability of structured verbal expression
• is capable of abstract thinking, analysis and synthesis
• is capable of self-reflection, creative work, is open to the opinions of his/her surroundings and knows the principles of democratic behaviour
• works creatively with acquired knowledge and skills
• is able to follow current trends in the given field of study and is able to integrate them into his/her professional development
