General information
Applicants for the study of Singing must have completed secondary education with a high school diploma. In the practical part of the entrance examination, he/she must demonstrate that his/her skills and abilities in singing are at an exceptional level. The practical examination also determines professional and, above all, artistic aptitude for the study of singing. The entrance examination takes the form of written tests, an interview and a practical skills test.
Form of admission procedure
The practical skills test consists of:
Singing:
- 1 aria from the Baroque period
- 1-2 opera arias
- 3 songs by 18. – 21. centuries of different character (at least one of them by a Czech author)
All compositions will be presented in the original language, with at least one in Czech.
Performance by heart is a requirement.
Each candidate will provide his/her own piano accompaniment for the talent test.
Acting and movement aptitude test:
- the candidate prepares one acting etude
- they will also prepare a prose, poem or spoken word skit of their choice
- performs a previously listened musical sample in movement (rhythmic and musical feeling, movement expression of the character of the music, etc.)
The result of the acting and movement aptitude test constitutes 20 % of the overall assessment.
The general knowledge test accounts for 10% of the overall assessment.
