What does studying Guitar offer?
The study specialization Guitar is taught at the Department of Stringed Instruments. The aim of the teaching is to develop the talents and abilities of the students for the independent realization of artistic projects. Of course, the maximum individual approach to each student is taken with regard to the degree of his/her talent, technical and artistic potential, intellectual maturity and his/her overall level. The Department of Stringed Instruments teaches the following subjects: playing the instrument, chamber music, study of repertoire with piano, history and literature of the instrument, methodology of playing the instrument, study of orchestral parts. In addition to these, students of the Department of Stringed Instruments also have the opportunity to study courses taught in the Department of Jazz Performance or the Department of Organ and Historical Performance. Most courses are taught individually.
Applying
Graduates can find quality employment not only in the Czech Republic, but also abroad as members of orchestras, chamber ensembles or teachers at music schools, conservatories or universities.
Where do graduates of the Guitar Performance specialisation find employment?
After graduating in Guitar Performance, they will find employment as soloists or chamber or orchestral players who will be able to cover a wide repertoire of all styles.
