Choral conducting

The study of choir conducting at the JAMU offers unique conditions for the development of future choir conductors. Students have their own practice choir, regularly attend rehearsals of professional ensembles in Brno and participate in master classes under the guidance of leading experts. They also actively participate in the preparation of opera productions of the National Theatre Brno. Graduates find employment as choirmasters of professional and amateur ensembles, choirmasters of opera ensembles, assistant choirmasters and teachers at all levels of music education.

Graduates of the Choir Conducting specialisation find employment as:

  • choirmasters of children’s, youth, women’s, men’s and mixed choirs – from amateur ensembles to professional ensembles
  • choirmasters and assistant choirmasters in opera houses and music theatres
  • music directors in the recording and recording of vocal music for radio, television, recording studios and other media
  • artistic directors and directors of choirs, vocal ensembles and festivals of choral art
  • music dramaturgs of theatres, cultural institutions, art ensembles, agencies and festivals
