Music Production (MgA.)
The mission of the Master’s degree programme is to prepare students for senior management professions in music institutions and other cultural and artistic institutions, including music education, as well as in other creative music entities, the music industry, art agencies, or in their own projects with an emphasis on creative input.
The Master’s degree in Music Production is open to students who have completed a Bachelor’s degree in music production, management or cultural management and other similar fields. If the applicant comes from another school, it is up to the individual to decide whether he or she can study for the Master’s degree or whether he or she needs to complete some of the courses from the Bachelor’s degree.
JAMU educates students not only in the field of artistic operation, but also in management, economics, marketing or relevant legislation. The Department of Music Production further develops these skills and knowledge and provides students with the freedom in their self-fulfilment, whether they want to be producers or marketing and communication specialists. However, it’s not just about the teaching itself during the course of study. Students will also undergo a rich work experience, not only in the preparation of performances of the Chamber Opera of the HF JAMU, but also with partners of the faculty, such as the Brno Philharmonic, the National Theatre Brno and many others. Theoretical teaching is complemented by a number of professional meetings and conferences, such as the Symposium.
At the end of the two-year Master’s degree, students not only submit their thesis, but also prepare their own graduation project with a musical, music-scientific or other focus. Compared to the previous bachelor’s project, the master’s project should be more comprehensive and include a production plan.
