Basic information
The Interpretation and Theory of Interpretation programme is a Ph.D. study programme designed for graduates of master’s programmes interested in in-depth theoretical-reflective and creative activity in the field of music performance. The program combines in-depth theoretical research with artistic practice and prepares students for challenging careers as artists, scholars, and teachers.
The study is accredited as a four-year full-time course, conducted at the JAMU Faculty of Music under the professional guidance of the programme guarantors.
Applying
Doctoral studies provide students with the knowledge and skills that qualify them to:
- publishing in the professional press, including the production of scripts, monographs and scientific papers
- demanding artistic practice with deep theoretical reflection
- teaching at universities and colleges of artistic type
- conducting scientific research projects and conferences
- expert commentary, editing and interpretation of historical and contemporary musical texts and performances
Graduates thus combine artistic excellence with methodological and research competence suitable for academic, publishing and creative careers in the international music environment.
