General information
The three-year bachelor’s degree programme in combined form prepares top piano teachers at the basic level and teachers of specialist subjects (e.g. methodology, teaching practice) for higher levels of art education.
He provides qualifications as a teacher of vocational subjects at ZUŠ and at the conservatory. The students of the programme acquire a complex of theoretical knowledge and practical performance and pedagogical skills in a close interconnection so that their immediate application in practice is possible, in direct cooperation with primary art schools or other music education institutions of equivalent or higher level.
They learn about and master piano pedagogical methods, styles and schools, musical and personal psychology. They orient themselves in the historical and current literature of the field, both domestic and foreign. This includes acquiring knowledge of the latest world trends, musical and instrument-specific aesthetics, and mastering the craft and technical skills of piano playing. Knowledge and analysis of instructional repertoire is required, including practical performance skills. The quality and originality of the graduate’s pedagogical style and artistic outlook is achieved through individual instruction and its divergent nature. Emphasis is also placed on specific knowledge of the principles of working with children with learning disabilities, LMD and handicaps.
Teachers providing teaching of individual subjects of the study programme are experienced professionals with excellent results in the field of piano pedagogy and performance and sit on international competition juries. In order to gain a broad perspective in the field, students are also provided with meetings with international experts in piano playing, piano pedagogy, methodology and chamber music.
