General information
The main prerequisite is a full university bachelor’s degree, which the student achieves in the relevant field of study of the Jazz Composition program (or an adequate study program of another art college) and the relevant specialization. It is understood that specialisations cannot be combined when moving from one degree to another.
Candidates who have studied undergraduate courses must also demonstrate an exceptional level in their specialisation in the practical examination. This practical examination will determine the applicant’s professional and, above all, artistic aptitude for studying the chosen specialisation of the degree programme.
An integral part of the entrance exam is a presentation, during which the candidate presents his/her concept of what the further study should look like. This requirement applies to all three specialisations. It will be judged by a committee appointed and approved by the Dean of the Faculty of Music at JAMU. This committee will also assess the applicant’s motivation, knowledge and professional level for the Master’s programme.
Form of admission procedure
- The entrance exam is conducted by presenting at least three compositions or arrangements of your own.
