Klavírní pedagogika

The typical candidate is a graduate of piano performance at a conservatory, or a candidate who has successfully passed the matriculation examination at a secondary vocational school such as a music grammar school. In particular, a suitable candidate is a teacher of a primary school, secondary school, conservatoire, secondary school of music, or faculty of education who has fulfilled the above-mentioned conditions of previous education. A candidate who is clearly interested in becoming a piano teacher or is already in this profession and is seeking further and deeper education in the field of piano art and pedagogy may be admitted to study. His or her playing is characterized by a distinctive interpretative contribution in addition to technical mastery of the instrument. He is capable of pedagogical work with children of school and preschool age. He has adequate knowledge of piano methodology, is gifted with empathy and pedagogical talent.

A conservatory graduation or a high school diploma is not a legal condition for admission (§48/2 of the Higher Education Act).Therefore, an applicant from the Czech Republic or abroad without the above-mentioned previous education may be admitted if he/she demonstrates talent, knowledge and skills at an equivalent level.

a) performance – assessment of the level of piano playing in the repertoire corresponding to the graduation from the conservatory, at least the difficulty and scope of the graduation examination in piano playing at the conservatory,

b) practical pedagogical examination – work with a model, a pupil of the ZUŠ

c) interview on professional issues of piano pedagogy

(d) a written knowledge test
