General information
Applicants must have completed secondary education with a secondary school leaving certificate. In the practical examination, he/she must demonstrate an exceptional level in his/her specialisation and meet the prescribed admission requirements. The admission examination determines the professional and, above all, artistic aptitude for the study of the chosen specialisation of a given study programme.
How do the entrance exams work?
The entrance examination is held in the form of a recital, during which the candidate performs on the instrument for which he/she is applying.
Form of the entrance examination
- Two contrasting virtuoso etudes of the candidate’s choice
- One composition of the Baroque period of the applicant’s choice
- One fast movement from a Classical or Romantic period concerto (including cadenzas) of the candidate’s choice
- One romantic piece of the applicant’s choice
The admission test includes a general knowledge test, which makes up 10% of the overall assessment.
The candidate also takes a language proficiency test, which is not part of the admission procedure and is only of indicative value.
Piano accompaniment will be provided by each candidate.
