Composition and Theory of Composition

The candidate submits a written thesis of the intended dissertation of 2-4 pages, which must include a description of the content and an idea of the method of elaboration, including a preliminary description of the relevant study materials and the chosen research methods. They will also present proposals for their intended artistic projects and teaching activities.

These dispositions are ascertained by means of an interview between the admissions committee and the applicant, during which the required materials submitted (the aforementioned scores of compositions, recordings, evidence of public presentation of works, theses of the dissertation, etc.) are discussed.

  • theoretical knowledge (history of music, history of culture, aesthetics, philosophy of art),
  • deep insight and orientation in the field of composition and multimedia composition,
  • the ability to reflect,
  • corresponding artistic results (evidenced by e.g. scores of compositions for various ensembles, recordings, evidence of public presentation of works, etc.),
  • language skills.
