Music Theory Department 

The Music Theory Department profiles its activities in two basic directions – it ensures the implementation of most of the theoretical teaching at the Faculty of Music, as well as develops professional activities in the field of science and research. The main research areas that have long been reflected by the members of the department include the Brno Composition School, research into the works of Leoš Janáček, Bohuslav Martinů, Claudio Monteverdi and other authors, regional music studies, the history of the organ and organ building and many other topics.
