The Leoš Janáček International Competition has been announced by the Faculty of Music of the Janáček Academy of Music and Performing Arts in Brno since 1994. The competition is annually hold for disciplines relating to Janáček’s works.

In four-year cycles the following disciplines regularly take turns:

• String Quartet (2010, 2014,...)
  
• Violin (2011, 2015,...)
  
• Piano (2012, 2016,...)
